Despite being around since 1993, ETFs have only recently become a household term when discussing investments. They are generally understood to be lower cost, but much mystery remains about how they work and how to choose the right ETFs for your portfolio. The number of ETFs globally has exploded to over 3,000, and the variations are becoming increasingly complex – providing investors exposure to areas of the market they never had before, and the ability to implement more sophisticated investment strategies than with individual stocks. With great power however, comes the responsibility to ensure you take care of your money by making the best possible investment decisions.
As Canada’s fastest growing ETF provider, and leader in ETF education, the team at BMO ETFs has a great deal of insight about what people want and need to know about ETF investing. They have assembled a list of the most frequently asked, and most important questions that investors have about ETFs. This session will examine these hot topics, offering a path to simplifying your task of choosing the right ETFs, and concluding with a streamlined approach to building your own portfolio.
